The Chinese are rushing to the moon

The cosmic success of the Celestial Empire testifies to its great plans for the near future On Sunday, December 6, the National Space Administration of China (CNSA) reported that its lunar probe Chang’e-5 had successfully docked with the orbital complex and moved the collected rock samples from the lunar surface.

They should be delivered to Earth in mid-December. The very fact of obtaining a lunar soil is not a sensation at all: in 1969 it was done for the first time by the USA, and a year later by the USSR. Another remarkable thing is that China is doing on the moon what no one has done since 1976, when both superpowers at the time actually abandoned their space programs, although they are now thinking of changing the situation.

According to media reports, a Chinese lunar rover collected 2 kg of regolith. For comparison, under the American program “Apollo” (six missions) a total of 382 kilograms of rock was delivered, the Soviet program “Moon” – 425 grams (three missions).
